Links To the  Stock Management System, Version 3.3

The system is one of a number of school systems from LanWest that has been specifically written for use within school departments to enable students to cost their Projects/Recipes using the database generated from the central Stock System. This system is invaluable to departments who allow students to design their own projects as it not only keeps student projects to a given budget but it also enables a link back to the central Stock System. This link enables the projects to be included in the teacher project schedule to generate the next weekly shopping order. Suitable for departments such as Home Economics and Design and Technology.

Key Modules:

·   A data Export/Import link to the Central Stock System

·    Can be used in a stand alone or network environment such as a school library.

·  A project/recipe module that allows students or teachers to create recipes at a point remote to the Central Stock System. Eg. School library or at Teachers home computer.

·   Recipes created remotely can be imported into Central Stock System Recipe Library.

·   Imported recipes can also be added to the next ingredient shopping list held in the Central System.

Key Features:

·   Displays all the stock ingredients as in the Central Stock System but does not allow edit functions.

·   Allows 2 user levels: Student and Administrator.  Student is limited to edit solely their own recipes. Administrator can edit any recipe in the library and can export the new version back into the system.

·   Is an easy to use system that does not require a high level of computer knowledge to operate.

·    Students have a practice module on existing recipes where changes made are not saved.

·   Recipe creation module allows for recipe import function saving time in creating similar recipes.

·   Has a teacher disk option which enables students to save their recipes to a teacher disk thus enabling the teacher to review and edit work done. An invaluable option before passing data into the main system.

·    Projects/Recipes that record item usages / ingredients and methodology.

·    Provision of an online manual and Task Guidance Sheets.  Eg: How to create a recipe.

·    Email/Phone support and software upgrades are available.
